Each year the Firm works with many individuals in drafting Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Health Care Proxies, and other estate planning documents. We listen to our clients’ needs and goals and work with them to provide for an orderly administration of their estates with an emphasis on reducing state and federal taxes, and preserving assets in the event long term care is needed in a nursing home.

Having a properly drafted and executed Durable Power of Attorney (for financial matters) and Health Care Proxy (for health care decisions) in place can be extremely useful in the event of a sudden incapacity of a loved one. As the maker of such documents, you can direct one or more trusted people to handle your affairs if and when you are not able to do so.

A well drafted Trust may help you avoid Probate and keep your personal financial matters private. Some Trusts can protect assets and provide for loved ones while others may help to reduce or avoid state and federal Estate taxes. Other special purpose Trusts can provide for those with Special needs or handle and help govern family owned real estate.
